Frankoma Pottery

Well this was a wonderful find today. We were in Bonham Texas and decided to visit the local Goodwill there. Just when I thought there was nothing to be found............Wow there it was all 19 pieces of Frankoma Pottery . I got all of it for $10.00 . I couldn't believe my good luck. For those of you not familar with Frankoma it was made with clay from as far as I know only three places in Oklahoma. Sapulpa, Ada and Shawnee. They went out of business about two years ago. I went on the internet when I got home and looked this patricular patttern up. It is called Westwind Flash and was made around 1962. Out of all of it there are two pieces that have minor damage to it. I also found two Christmas teapots at another thrift store there at 75% off. You know where to go to see those. Happy New Year everyone until next time.....

Debbie, OMGosh! what a fantastic find good on you they are soooooo! beautiful the colour is very much 1960's isnt it.

I am so pleased you have posted a comment on this last post of mine as it gives me a wonderful opportunity to chat with many I have not done so for some time and now that I am on a little holiday from the second hand shop I will be visiting everyone often.

We are like two peas in a pod you and I your favourites are very much like mine and your love of antiques, hubby and family O! and thrift shops well what can I say except I am typing this with a big smile on my face.

You would be sad to know as I worked yesterday a man came to the op-shop with his wives collection of teapots but.....:O( he did not have them wrapped in the big box but just all in there together, they were so dirty that as we washed them I found they had all been bumped together and most had chips and cracks the chips we found on the bottom of the box so they were nice when he dropped them into the box. what a mess they all were they had to go into the trash.

Well I do hope you don't mind as I have added you to my side bar "dear blogger friends" as I am sure this year we will have lots to chat about. (hope that is ok!)

enjoy your day!
