Frankoma Pottery

Well this was a wonderful find today. We were in Bonham Texas and decided to visit the local Goodwill there. Just when I thought there was nothing to be found............Wow there it was all 19 pieces of Frankoma Pottery . I got all of it for $10.00 . I couldn't believe my good luck. For those of you not familar with Frankoma it was made with clay from as far as I know only three places in Oklahoma. Sapulpa, Ada and Shawnee.They went out of business about two years ago. I went on the internet when I got home and looked this patricular patttern up. It is called Westwind Flash and was made around 1962. Out of all of it there are two pieces that have minor damage to it. I also found two Christmas teapots at another thrift store there at 75% off. You know where to go to see those. Folk Art

Isn't this a wonderful painting? I found this at an auction this summer. I had no idea where to put it because it didn't look right by its self. Well dear hubby built this great shelf out of cedar and put a cedar board under it to hand all my kitchen primitives on. Well of course not all but there has never been a shelf made that would hold all of it. The train sets the whole picture off and wouldn't this little village be a wonderful place to live. I think I would like to live in the house with the paddle wheel. It is probally a boarding house for travelers getting off the train. There is always coffee and tea on and something sweet that is home baked. Of course you can always smell the fresh bread because it is served with every meal.You can sit on the front porch and watch the children in the plat yard and just walk across the street to go to church. Well that is my idea of what goes on in that village and I will leave you to think of your own possibilites.....................................

60's Craft Books

These are some things I got out of a truck load of books I bought at fridays auction. I bought a truck load of old 1800's and early 1900 books. There were also several boxes of different kinds of crafting books. since I don't do any of those my buddy Linda from Mish Mash will get them. I thought the Woodstock Book was great.It came out right after Woodstock 1969. One of the coolest books I found was The Southern Colonies. This book was written in 1860 and has maps and illustrations in it. I live history. There were about fifteen of those little speciality cook books that Peartree cottage likes. It was fun going through them. After I got through sorting I had a fifty five gallon barrel full I threw away and still had 11 big boxes left. Two Framed Cross Stitch Pieces

I bought these two cross stitch pieces in frames last night at the Friday Auction. I gave $1.00 each for them. It says on the back they were made in 1987. I thought they were so pretty. after Gina's project I knew there was a lot of work and hours on this project. Hope you all enjoy looking at my goodies.............

Commadore Christmas Angels

I found these at a roadside flea market about 10 miles from our home. The lady only wanted .50 a piece for them. I snatched them up for the dollar. As soon as I got home it was straight to the computer to look them up. The cheapest I found for the pair was $50.00. I was really surprised. I figured about $15.00. They are so pretty. I have a fairly good collection of Angels and I really liked these. Do you think red or green candles will look good? Which color? I have so much to put on here it could become a full time job (lol). hope you all enjoy this new blog...........

Dancing Veggies for Gina

Well Gina these are a few of the musical veggie cup towels I got awhile back. They are in very good condition. I sold a big box off about a month ago to a dealer in a nearby town. that is where most of the tablecloths went. It was one of those things where I was made an offer I couldn't refuse. But on the good side I have quite a lot left to show. Everyone have a good day.

A world of things to come

Let me start this new blog with something that is very special to me. these two dresses were made by my Grandmother when she was about 15. they are from the Roaring Twenties. This picture was taken last month at our towns Heritage Days. The theme this year was " The Roaring Twenties". My Aunt gave me a box of wonderful things that belonged to my Grandmother in January after my Granddad died. These were under all kinds of tatted bonnets and sweaters. I will get around to getting all my treasures on here a little at a time. I hope everyone enjoys all these things as well as I do. Gina I will get those linens up I promise.
